GWI (La Mirada, CA) is now the exclusive North American stevia distributor for China-based herbal extracts supplier Chenguang Biotech. Chenguang operates 12 agricultural facilities worldwide.
GWI says the global stevia market stood at $304 million in 2012 and is expected to grow to $409 million by 2016, according to market researcher Zenith International.
Chenguang’s president Qingguo Lu says the company has already grown its stevia market share in Asia and is now looking to expand to the U.S.
