ANVISA, Brazil’s Health Surveillance Agency, has approved for sale ZeaONE Zeaxanthin from Kemin Health LC (Des Moines,IA). The news allows Kemin to begin immediate marketing in Brazil of ZeaONE, a zeaxanthin ingredient sourced from a parented line of marigolds.
Like lutein, zeaxanthin has shown promise for health conditions like skin health and eye health in multiple scientific studies. In a recent age-related eye disease study from the U.S. National Eye Institute (AREDS2), 2 mg of zeaxanthin plus 10 mg of Kemin’s FloraGLO lutein was found to “slow the progression of age-related macular degeneration.”
ZeaONE is commercially available under the OptiSharp Natural brand from DSM (Parsippany, NJ).
