TriNutra (Harrison, NY) partnered with NS Oils Ltd. (Kibbutz Saad Israel) to provide organic ThymoQuin black seed oil, exclusively grown in Sde Eliyahu, Israel. The organic ThymoQuin seeds have been cultivating for three years and TriNutra is ready to supply its standardized Nigella sativa oil certified by the national organic program.
“Quality seeds have always been an important aspect of TriNutra’s business model and delivering organic means that we can further meet the demands of consumers,” said Morris Zelkha, CEO of TriNutra, in a press release. “We wanted to make sure we do it right, no cutting corners, and now, after three years, we have full confidence in our ability to deliver organic ThymoQuin to our customers.”
TriNutra’s breeding program produces plants with higher thymoquinone content than more common varieties and a proprietary cold-press extraction produces the stable and highly bioavailable ThymoQuin standardized to 3% thymoquinone with less than 2% fatty acid.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for ingredients that meet organic, non-GMO and other sustainability standards to help differentiate their brands,” said Chris Holland, VP of sales at Barrington Nutritionals, in a press release. “TriNutra did a phenomenal job working with their family farmers to develop the seed and build a reliable supply chain to ensure consistent supply of organic ThymoQuin. Another win for TriNutra and our customers!”
