Ross Systems and Controls (Ross SysCon), part of mixing equipment supplier Charles Ross & Son Co. (Hauppauge, NY), is offering new, specialized control panels that can be used with high-horsepower equipment operated in hazardous locations.
A NEMA 12 main power panel, which houses high-voltage variable frequency drives and motor protection fusing, is installed in a non-classified area and is wired to a NEMA 7/9 operator station. Pictured is a system built for one of the company’s 500-gal multi-shaft mixers. This system has an explosion-proof panel designed for Class 1, Division 1, Groups C&D. It features a user-friendly color display for viewing agitator speeds, loads, and temperature. It also features start/stop push button controls, speed control potentiometers, an emergency stop button, intrinsically safe barriers for temperature probe and safety switches, and a matching terminal strip to mate with the main power panel.
In other company news, the company announced the addition of a new regional sales manager, Gregg Drames. Drames now serves the mid-Atlantic region, including Delaware; Maryland; Washington, DC; southern New Jersey; and parts of Pennsylvania. He has a background as a research chemist and laboratory manager.
