There’s a new player in the pomegranate ingredient industry. POM Wonderful, maker of the high-profile brand of pomegranate juices and related products, is now offering pomegranate ingredient POMx for use in dietary supplements and functional food.
POMx is available in both powder and liquid form, and the company says it contains a broad spectrum of pomegranate polyphenols. The company says that in 2005, it developed a patent-pending process to harness the high concentration of polyphenols in all parts of the pomegranate fruit, including the peel, membrane, and juice sacs.
“As a completely vertically integrated pomegranate company, we are well positioned to offer the finest pomegranate ingredients in the market,” said Brad Paris, vice president of global produce, in a press release.
To support its entrance into the ingredients market, the company welcomed Kyle Redfield as industrial sales manager.
