Open Book Extracts to utilize Unlokt technology from Day Three Labs for edible cannabinoid formulations

Open Book Extracts (Roxboro, NC) has announced the launch of new edible cannabinoid products that employ a novel plant-based infusion technology called Unlokt from Day Three Labs. Unlokt uses a fully water-soluble powder that can be easily incorporated into a wide range of dosage formats to encapsulate cannabis within a natural protein that shuttles the actives directly into the body’s circulation by bypassing first-pass metabolism in the liver. This protects the cannabinoids and terpenes, allowing them to be released and better absorbed in the bloodstream. The Unlokt technology can support product in the recreational and medical marijuana spaces, as well as functional food and beverages formulated with hemp-derived cannabinoids.
