NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI) has launched new certification marks for its Contents Certified and Certified for Sport programs. Contents Certified verifies to consumers that the contents have been tested to ensure they do not contain unsafe levels of contaminants, and Certified for Sport verifies that the contents do not contain unsafe levels of contaminants, prohibited substances, or masking agents.
“With the variety of NSF International marks in use we understood from our customers the need to create new dietary supplements and nutritional product certification program marks that are unique and instantly distinguishable for consumers,” said Lori Bestervelt, executive vice president and chief technical officer at NSF International, in a press release. The new Contents Certified mark is blue, and the new Certified for Sport mark has a two toned blue and bright orange design. The marks will also be available in alternate color schemes to better match packaging designs, such as a black-and-white version and transparent design with white accents, and come in both horizontal and vertical orientation.
Products meeting the respective certification requirements have until June 30, 2020 to implement the updated NSF marks.
