New Polydextrose Fiber Weight-Management Supplement Pairs with Microbiome Supplement, Company Says

Direct-sales supplements firm Plexus Worldwide (Orlando, FL) is adding a new weight-management dietary supplement to its Plexus Slim line. Plexus Slim Hunger Control is a fiber-based ingredient that the company says boosts satiety, helping users feel fuller after eating, thus reducing hunger and promoting weight loss.

Plexus Slim Hunger Control is formulated with polydextrose, a low-calorie soluble fiber that may help reduce hunger. Plexus explains that polydextrose promotes satiety by attracting water and swelling in the stomach. Slim Hunger Control also contains chromium, which the company says supports glucose metabolism. In addition, the new supplement is non-GMO, gluten-free, and contains no artificial flavors or sweeteners, Plexus says.

Plexus first introduced Slim Hunger Control to its direct-sales “ambassadors” in an early trial, during which the company says it sold out its initial run of 70,000 bags in less than 36 hours.

The new Plexus Slim Hunger Control product can be used in conjunction with the brand’s existing Plexus Slim Microbiome Activating product, a weight-management supplement drink mix containing probiotics and prebiotics. Plexus Slim Microbiome is a xyooligosaccharide probiotic ingredient that is said to help balance the microbiome and support healthy blood glucose levels. Specifically, the company says that Slim Microbiome “helps your microbiome thrive by activating friendly microbes…which positively impacts disrupted metabolism associated with being overweight.

Explained Janice Jackson, president of sales and marketing, Plexus, in a press statement, the company’s ambassadors inspired Slim Hunger Control’s creation, requesting a drink option that specifically targeted feelings of hunger. “Our Plexus Slim Microbiome Activating formula, which has a powerful prebiotic fiber that promotes the growth of good gut microbes, remains extremely popular, but many ambassadors were requesting another pink drink option that focused on curbing hunger.” She added that Slim Hunger Control is flavored with blood orange, lemon, and lime flavors, and is only 20 calories.
