Naturex Inc. (South Hackensack, NJ) acquired Vegetable Juices Inc. (Bedford Park, IL) last Tuesday, and the move reportedly doubles Naturex’s local operations in food and beverage markets. More importantly, it gives Naturex a serious expertise in vegetable ingredients.
Vegetable Juices Inc. was founded in 1934 by Dominic Rolle, who is credited with having taken a part in developing the V8 vegetable juice brand. The company has since expanded to offer a variety of vegetable ingredients as concentrates, juices, purées, and dices. In a recent interview with Nutritional Outlook, Vegetable Juices Inc. hinted that it is seeing growing interest in savory beverages, which may incorporate ingredients such as cayenne pepper, bell pepper, lemongrass, and ginger.
