Andrew Shao, who led scientific and regulatory affairs at the Council for Responsible Nutrition, will be joining Herbalife's product safety team.
Herbalife Ltd. (Los Angeles), a developer of nutrition and personal care products, has announced the hiring of Andrew Shao, PhD, as vice president of global product science and safety.
Shao is the current senior vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs for the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, DC).
Effective March 7, Shao will serve under Herbalife’s Vasilios Frankos, former FDA director of the division of dietary supplements program, who Herbalife signed last April.
Shao will help ensure that all Herbalife products are safe, meet regulatory safety requirements, and offer claims backed by credible science.
Prior to joining CRN, Shao served as senior scientist for GNC (Pittsburgh) and a member of the research and development team at Kemin Health (Des Moines, IA).
