Custom beverage development company, Flavorman, announced their predictions for the 2025 Beverage trends, which foreshadowed international spices and tropical fruits to rise in popularity next year.
On November 12, 2024, custom beverage development company, Flavorman, announced their predictions on 2025 Beverage Trends, as mentioned in a recent press release (1). In the company’s forecast for next year, they anticipate international spices and tropical fruits to be the top ingredients to lead the industry.
According to the press release, the “Predicted popular ingredients include coconut, papaya, dragon fruit, turmeric, star anise, coriander, and others,” (1). To come to their conclusions, Flavorman scavenged through lists of ingredients, researched consumer cravings, and flavor formulas. For the past seven years, Flavorman has offered their predictions of what they believe will the industry trends in the coming new year. In 2024, the custom beverage enterprise presumed that the industry trends would be focused on “sweet heat” flavors. Such as, spicy margarita and mango-habanero, which cemented their victory to provide accurate results (1).
For 2025, Flavorman anticipates that consumer interest will pivot toward ingredient transparency. The press release discussed the growing number of lawsuits that have been dialed in on inaccurate label claims (1). Flavorman’s 2025 Beverage Trends are showing companies in the industry that consumer behavior is going to be changing, where the consumer will be analyzing the list of ingredients and diving deeper into what they are putting into their bodies. This is associated with the “sober curious” movement which is growing in popularity in the industry (1). “The sober curious lifestyle encourages consumers to re-evaluate their relationship with alcohol, often leading to reduced consumption.” She adds, “We’re seeing a significant rise in clients looking to develop ready-to-drink mocktails, non-alcoholic spirits, and NA beers and wines to meet this demand,” Kristen Wemer, Flavorman Chief Technical Officer, explained (1). Additionally, Flavorman believes that spirits will trend in the new year as well. For example, bitters, aperitifs, and liqueurs (1).
Moving outside of spirits and ingredient trends, Flavorman’s 2025 Beverage Trends also forecasted that consumers will be interested in customization and variety in products. “Beverages featuring customizable components, such as flavor cartridges, are expected to perform well. Likewise, marketing campaigns highlighting new flavors, variety packs, and “mystery flavors” will offer consumers a “pick and choose” experience they crave, creating a dynamic space for brand engagement, (1).
