Gaia Herbs’ Professional Division (Brevard, NC), under the brand name Professional Solutions, has been accepted as a gold partner in the recently launched Emerson Quality Program (EQP), a voluntary program designed to give healthcare professionals background data about dietary supplement companies.
Developed by supplement marketer and distributor Emerson Ecologics, EQP provides information such as companies’ current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and raw-material and finished-product testing. To be eligible for the program, supplement manufacturers must be cGMP certified by a third party such as NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI), the United States Pharmacopeia (Rockville, MD), and the Natural Products Association (Washington, DC). If accepted, companies are allowed to use one of three EQP quality seals-gold, silver, or partner level.
Gaia says that it is one of only 10 companies, and the only herbal company, to rank as an EQP gold partner, the highest ranking a company can receive.
