The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN; Washington, DC) has announced the agenda for The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science. The event is scheduled to take place on October 18 at The Ritz-Carlton hotel, Dove Mountain, in Marana, Arizona, and takes place ahead of the association’s other main event, The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry, which takes place October 18-21 at the same location.
According to CRN, the workshop will feature focused discussions on current, noteworthy topics in the dietary supplement and nutrition industry. Specifically, the Day of Science will include discussions on cutting-edge clinical research for botanicals, advances in personalized nutrition, protein requirements, bioactives for cognitive and physiological health, and nutritional genetics and epigenetics, among other topics. The wide-ranging sessions will be led by experts from academia, government organizations, and abroad, CRN says, with additional speakers soon to be confirmed.
Rachel K. Johnson, PhD, MPH, RD, FAHA, professor of nutrition and pediatrics at the University of Vermont, is slated to kick off the event with a keynote address that will focus on improving the nutrient status of American women and children by way of improving “balance and choice” in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supplemental nutrition program.
“The Day of Science brings together top industry executives who have a keen interest in learning more about the latest science and innovation related to dietary supplements and nutritional ingredients,” said Duffy MacKay, ND, senior vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs, CRN, in a press release. “This year’s agenda includes robust scientific sessions facilitated by leading experts in nutrition science, exploring industry trends and key issues impacting our industry, and is sure to uphold The Workshop’s top-tier reputation.”
Registration details are available on CRN’s website.
