Goya Foods’ (Secaucus, NJ) dedication to provide clean label products translated into tangible gains in the marketplace, when it partnered with SaltWorks Inc. (Woodinville, WA). SaltWorks is a leading supplier of all-natural sea salt that is kosher certified, organic compliant, and undergoes quality assurance techniques such as SaltWorks’ proprietary Optically Clean technology. The two companies partnered to upgrade Goya Organic and Low Sodium Canned Beans with SaltWorks Pure Ocean Premium Sea Salt.
In 2018, Goya started introducing sea salt into its Organic and Low-Sodium line of canned beans – replacing refined iodized salt – and the products experienced a 4.5% growth after being launched at retail. SaltWorks Pure Ocean Premium Sea Salt is currently available in 16 Goya Organic and Low Sodium Canned Bean products, including Black Beans, Chick Peas, Pinto Beans, Red Kidney Beans, Small White Beans and Roman Beans.
“We are proud to be partnering with Goya to help them reach their clean label goals,” said Mark Zoske, founder and CEO of SaltWorks, in a press release. “Pure Ocean is one of our most popular sea salts. Not only is it a great value and available in a range of grain sizes, its clean flavor makes it ideal for a variety of food applications. It was a natural fit for the Goya ‘Better for You’ product line.”
