The National Organic Program (NOP), managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), granted organic certification to BGG World (BGG; Irvine, CA) and its subsidiary Algae Health Sciences (AHS) for its astaxanthin supercritical CO2 oleoresin ingredient, AstaZine.
“BGG continues to lead the astaxanthin market in every way, and the timing couldn’t be better for this innovation,” said Bob Capelli, CEO of BGG Americas and Algae Health Sciences, in a press release. “We just completed our capacity expansion last month, doubling our potential volume to become the largest algae-based astaxanthin producer in the world. So, we’ll have plenty of Astaxanthin in both organic and standard forms for every brand that wants it for years to come.”
This certification allows BGG to serve any solid formulation, including softgel and liquid-filled hardshell caps.
