Artemis International (Ft. Wayne, IN) has announced the launch of Fenuflakes, a substantial portfolio expansion from the leading supplier to dark berry extracts. Fenuflakes is a formulation that featured debittered, defatted flakes of fenugreek seeds, rich in fiber and high in protein as well as ultra-low in fat and carbohydrates.
“We think through every customer inquiry that comes our way because priority one is to supply the quality ingredients they need to move their business forward,” explained Leslie Gallo, president of Artemis International, in a press release. “Recent asks inspired us to make a major shift in our core business model to include a wide variety of functional ingredients, many of which will be ideally suited for food and beverage formulation.”
Artemis says that Fenuflakes has been clinically demonstrated to support healthy blood sugar, lower the glycemic index of high GI foods, and improve gut health. According to the company, there has been an enthusiastic response from consumers for Fenuflakes in food formulations such as baked goods, cereals, pasta, and more. Additionally, as a protein source, Fenuflakes contain a full suite of amino acids.
“Our valued customers have been asking for more ingredients outside of dark berries, and we are responding,” said Randy Kreienbrink, vice president of sales at Artemis and a certified food scientist. “Fenuflakes hits the mark in terms of addressing multiple consumer health concerns. We have several additional ingredients in the hopper and are very excited about the potential for our expanded portfolio to fuel wellness for everyone and business success for our partners.”
