Alvinesa upcycles material from wine manufacturing into health and wellness ingredients.
Alvinesa Natural Ingredients (Daimiel, Spain), a supplier of plant-based nutrition and health ingredients upcycled from the wine industry, has acquired Genosa (Málaga, Spain), a supplier of hydroxytyrosol ingredients upcycled from olive fruit.
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Alvinesa’s growth strategy and strengthens its position as a key player in the upcycled natural ingredients market,” says an Alvinesa press release.
Alvinesa’s upcycled ingredients are suited for food, beverage, animal health, and nutraceutical products. Its portfolio includes its flagship Vintera brand of polyphenol-rich grape extracts, as well as natural colors, grape seed oil, natural flavors (wine concentrate), and natural tartaric acid.
The company says Genosa uses patented physical and mechanical methods only for extraction, “abstaining from the use of solvents in the extraction of hydroxytyrosol.”
