Agravitae (Tustin, CA) has partnered with TKO Farms, the world’s largest graviola farm in Belize to create a secure, sustainable supply chain for graviola products in the U.S. Graviola is the fruit from the Annona muricata tree native to tropical regions, such as Central America, the Caribbean, Africa and Southeast Asia. Rich in powerful antioxidants like vitamin C, quercetin, tangeretin, and luteolin, graviola may offer a wealth of health benefits that range from healthy inflammation to sleep support, even skin health. The challenge is that the fruit is difficult to grow and ripens quickly after harvest, making it difficult to import and develop products.
Together, Agravitae and TKO Farms have developed a proprietary process to freeze dry the vine-ripened fruit to preserve its nutritional qualities. Armed with this new technology, they have also developed a range of products that are making their way into the U.S. market, including graviola super-food infused Coffee Bar, a line of graviola-infused luxury skin care, graviola supplements and an original herbal graviola tea.
“Our beliefs are firmly rooted in revering, protecting and defending Mother Earth as the provider and sustainer of life,” said founder and chairman of TKO Farms, Ken Owen, in a press release. “We harvest only the cream of the crop. Our highest intention is to provide superior quality, farm-sourced, plant-based nutrients in our dietary supplements, food products and skin care that are authentic, honest and pure.”
TKO cultivates 85,000 graviola trees on the 1,000-acre commercial farm using sustainable agricultural processes to ensure a high quality raw material, as well as optimal soil quality.
