Soon-to-be-published study results in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology suggest SkinAx2, a skin-health formula from Activ’Inside (Libourne, France), may significantly improve several factors of facial “skin radiance,” including color, contrast, and imperfections. SkinAx2 combines French grape (Vitis vinifera L.) and melon (Cucumis melo L.) extracts, which are rich in zinc, vitamin C, polyphenols, and the enzyme superoxide dismutase, Activ’Inside explains.
The open-label clinical study included 35 women aged 40–70 with dull complexion, according to a study abstract shared by Activ’Inside that has been approved for publication. For eight weeks, all subjects consumed 150 mg of SkinAx2, with researchers evaluating skin changes with the C.L.B.T. test for facial skin coloring, luminosity, brightness, and transparency. Additionally, researchers assessed facial skin firmness and imperfections, and participants were also asked to complete a subjective questionnaire on their satisfaction with any improvements to facial skin.
Following two months of oral supplementation with SkinAx2, skin “red pink” and “olive” colors were significantly improved. While skin brightness and transparency were not affected by supplementation, luminosity was increased by 25.9%. Researchers also observed a global reduction in facial skin imperfections of 18%, with significant diminishment observed for dark circles, redness, and spots. Study participants also reported general satisfaction with their product, with 82.4% of women reporting satisfaction with the improvements on their facial skin and 64.7% of participants reporting looking better at the end of the supplementation period.
Researchers concluded that SkinAx2 “was found to improve skin radiance by reducing skin coloring, increasing face luminosity, reducing imperfections, and improving skin firmness in women with dull complexion,” in the soon-to-be-published abstract shared by Activ’Inside.
“Contrary to most of skin anti-aging solutions, SkinAx2 not only acts on a single parameter but has a full and complementary action on all factors involved in skin radiance: your skin is more luminous, smoother and firmer, with less imperfections,” says Marion Dumoulin, co-author of the study, in the press announcement. “Overall, more than 20 clinical results detailing the SkinAx2 efficacy have been obtained, each representing one validated differentiating message for the final consumers.”
