Charles Ross & Son Company (Hauppauge, NY) is now offering washdown-dutry ribbon blenders, used for mixing grains, powders, flakes, pellets and other dry blends. They are currently available in sizes from 0.5–1000 cu ft.
Pictured above is a 1-cu-ft stainless steel blend model equipped with all washdown components, such as the motor, variable frequency drive, safety limit switch, stuffing boxes, and knife-gate discharge valve. It also includes a charging port with safety grating on the dust-tight cover and a U-shaped trough surrounded by a 100-psi ASME-stamped jacket for heating and cooling.
The blenders can also tackle wet applications, such as slurries, pastes, and suspensions, with delicate spraying technologies that ensure uniform distribution.
“The versatile blending mechanism is delivered by a horizontal agitator with characteristic inner and outer helical ribbons precisely pitched to move materials in a well-balanced axial and radial flow pattern,” according to Charles Ross.
