Charles Ross & Son Company (Hauppauge, NY) is highlighting its Ross PowerMix Model PDM-10 mixer, which features high-speed dispersion and planetary stirring capabilities. The new model features an additional sawtooth blade on each disperser shaft, which the company says can double the shear input capacity of the mixer.
The company says that this mixer allows manufacturers to impart high shear to tough-to-mix applications with low flowability. In addition to traditional kneading capabilities, the PowerMix mixer’s proprietary planetary design functions well for heavy pastes, slurry-like applications, or any solutions involving powders that need to be evenly dispersed, the company says.
The PowerMix mixer also features a rectangular stirrer that orbits the mixer. This stirrer exposes the contents of the mixer to the shearing action of the dispersers. The company adds that for applications that are prone to climbing up the stirrer, patented “High Viscosity” blades, which help push the product forward and downward, are available from the company. Charles Ross also offers fully automated PLC recipe control and data acquisitions for mixing.
