Xampla, a manufacturer natural biopolymers, has announced a partnership with Yili Innovation Centre Europe to test and validate Xampla’s microscopic natural biopolymer capsules used to fortify a range of products with vitamins and nutrients. Yili is Asia’s largest and fastest growing dairy company, and the Yili Innovation Centre Europe invests in startups throughout the dairy supply chain to help drive innovation of next-generation products.

Xampla explains in a release that its microscopic natural biopolymer capsules protects ingredients from degradation related to UV exposure, pH, and heat shock to ensure optimal fortification, while also preserving taste and texture. The technology is rooted in 15 years of protein research, and the partnership is pivotal in scaling the technology from proof of concept to full scale production.

“Having the support of this leading global dairy brand has further strengthened our position as leaders in food and beverage fortification technology,” said Alexandra French, CEO of Xampla, in a press release. “We look forward to seeing our groundbreaking, world-first microencapsulation technology make its way from the laboratory to a market of health and environment-conscious consumers.”

“We are excited to start this pilot collaboration with Xampla. Yili always strives to bring next-generation products with enhanced nutrition and health to consumers,” added Gerrit Smit, managing director of Yili Innovation Center Europe.
