Woodland Foods (Waukegan, IL), a provider of globally-sourced, plant-based ingredients has announced the acquisition of Idan Foods (Hawthorne, NJ), which provides breading and batters, coating systems, baking mixes, and seasonings. According to the company, the acquisition positions Woodland Foods as a critical partner to customers in foodservice and industrial channels by addressing the growing demand for outsourced product development.
The acquisition also adds to Woodland’s range of finished product offerings to its product portfolio, expands its customer base, end market diversification, as well as manufacturing scale and footprint. “Idan is a strategic add-on for Woodland. The inherent strengths of Idan, including their commitment to quality and partnership with key customers, is a great fit with Woodland’s broad channel reach, culinary capabilities, and global sourcing approach,” said John Buckles, CEO of Woodland Foods, in a press release. “The entire Woodland team and I are pleased to welcome Giorgio and Idan and we are excited about how these new categories will create value for Woodland’s customers.”
