Its Mountain Rescue–Altitude Sickness Vitamin Blend combines ingredients like B vitamins and potassium that the company says help aid against dehydration and electrolyte depletion experienced at high altitudes.
Personalized-nutrition brand Vous Vitamin now offers a dietary supplement the company says addresses the effects of altitude sickness. Its Mountain Rescue–Altitude Sickness Vitamin Blend combines ingredients like B vitamins and potassium that the company says help aid against dehydration and electrolyte depletion experienced at high altitudes.
Each packet contains two blue tablets and two yellow tablets. “A daily serving consists of taking one Blue tablet in the morning and one Yellow tablet in the evening while at higher elevation areas,” the company says on its website.
The blue tablet contains B vitamins, potassium, and other ingredients. “It helps replenish the vital nutrients that are depleted when you’re at peak performance” and contains no caffeine, sugar, or calories, “unlike many energy products,” the firm says. Meanwhile, the yellow tablet “is your body’s best defense against dehydration and electrolyte depletion. We modeled this formulation after the IV fluids that hospitals use to treat acute dehydration.”
The company markets the supplement thusly: “Prepare for high altitudes. Explore new terrains, travel, and seek adventure with the right blend of nutrients to support your optimal health.”
