NXT USA (Edison, NJ) has announced that the patented ingredient TamaFlex has been officially registered as a Food with Functional Claim (FFC) in Japan by the Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA). This registration was achieved in collaboration with Octroll, which is a key player in Japan’s functional health food market.

"We are honored to have TamaFlex recognized as an FFC ingredient in Japan,” said Hiroyuki Tanaka, CEO of Octroll Inc., in a press release. “This approval places TamaFlex in an exclusive category of natural ingredients, scientifically validated for specific health benefits. Japanese consumers can trust in its proven efficacy, knowing it meets the rigorous standards set by the CAA. Our three double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies have provided the scientific foundation for this recognition, demonstrating the product’s reliability."

The FFC system, explains NXT in a press release, ensures that products marketed under that label are safe, effective, and meet stringent quality standards. In order to quality, NXT and Octroll had to provide clinical data and systematic reviews demonstrating the ingredient’s safety and effectiveness. The three human clinical studies mentioned by Tanaka involved more than 300 participants and showed significant improvements in joint health at 250 mg per day.
