Global life sciences and nutraceutical ingredients developer Suanfarma has acquired Monteloeder (Madrid, Spain), a company with 25 years of experience creating clinically studied branded botanical ingredients for dietary supplements, foods, and beverages.
With this acquisition, Suanfarma strengthens its active-nutraceuticals portfolio. It also develops, produces, and commercializes ingredients for the pharmaceutical and veterinary industries. Shortly before Suanfarma acquired Monteloeder, healthcare investment firm ArchiMed invested in Suanfarma. The goal is now to make Suanfarma a European leader in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical ingredients, including in nutraceutical markets like weight management, cardiovascular health, nutricosmetics, and relaxation and sleep enhancement, the companies say.
In a press release, the companies stated, “Suanfarma aims to expand Monteloeder’s product offering into the group’s core markets and capitalize on Monteloeder’s market-leading R&D department to strengthen the development of scientifically proven branded ingredients.”
