According to the company, New Zealand whole green kiwifruit has been shown to promote regularity, gut motility, and other digestive-health factors.
Stratum Nutrition (St. Louis) unveiled Actazin, a kiwi ingredient for digestive regularity, at last week’s SupplySide West trade show.
According to the company, Actazin is a standardized supplement ingredient derived from New Zealand whole green kiwifruit, which has been shown to promote regularity, gut motility, and other digestive-health factors. Actazin includes actinidin, a proteolytic enzyme unique to kiwifruit. It also contains insoluble and soluble fiber, prebiotics, and a high level of polyphenolics.
“New Zealanders have long understood the value and benefit of kiwifruit for digestive health,” stated Grant Washingon-Smith, to the press. He is a spokesperson for Anagenix Ltd., the New Zealand ingredient company that manufactures Actazin and with which Stratum Nutrition has a technology partnership to market Actazin in the United States, Europe, and Canada.
Grant added, “We are confident that the U.S. market will feel the benefit that New Zealanders have known of this novel approach to digestive health, without the side-effect profile often associated with high-fiber diets.”
