The gummies feature Lonza’s patented UC-II collagen.
Sirio Europe (Pritzwalk, Germany) will unveil two new collagen-based gummy supplements at the Vitafoods Europe trade show taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 9-12 (Booth I40). One supplement is for sports nutrition, and the other is for beauty. Both feature the patented UC-II undenatured type II collagen ingredient from Lonza (Basel, Switzerland).
Sirio calls the sports nutrition gummy “Jumping Jacks.” It aims to support joint health in the sports market. “The first of its kind to market, the premium Jumping Jacks gummy offers a high payload of UC-II collagen (40 mg), the optimum daily amount to support joint function in one serving, along with 12 mg of vitamin C, to increase joint comfort, flexibility, and mobility,” Sirio’s press release states.
Meanwhile, of the beauty gummy, the company says, “'Perfect Glow' [is] the world’s first full-spectrum (type I, II, and III) collagen-based gummy for visible effects on skin elasticity, smoothness, and glow.” This gummy contains 500 mg of collagen peptides, which the firm says is “the highest inclusion rate to ever go to market in a gummy,” and 10 mg of UC-II “to help replenish the body’s natural collagen in just one dose per day.”
Both new gummy supplements are gelatin-based and fruit-flavored, but they can also be made with pectin and low- or sugar-free.
