Sempera Organics and Sinoveda Canada partner to accelerate development of fungi-based bioactive formulations

Sempera Organics (Morgan Hill, CA) has announced signing a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian drug development company Sinoveda Canada Inc. with the goal of accelerating the development of fungi-based bioactive formulations.

“Sempera is on a mission to identify, validate and deliver fungi bio-actives that target human conditions such as cognition, sleep, stress, anxiety, and gut flora health, among others,” said Nirmal Nair, CEO and founder of Sempera Organics, in a press release. Sempera focuses on the growth, optimization, and extraction of actives from fungi mycelia, and has therefore built up a genetic library of fungi species. Its core family of family of mushroom species blends can be used in a range of dosage formats, including capsules, gummies, soft gels, beverages, and food.

According to the press release, Sinoveda has developed an advanced technology that utilizes data to speed up the development of plant-based medicines and health products. The company has successfully created formulas and obtained patents for pharmaceutical blends using red clover, calcium, cannabis, and cordyceps.
