Savory Flavors Give Nutrition Bars New Life: KIND Bars
Flavors like Roasted Jalapeno and Honey Smoked BBQ may be just what's needed to reinvigorate the nutrition bar market.
KIND launched its first-ever savory bar line, Strong & KIND, this April. The bold flavors include Honey Smoked BBQ, Honey Mustard, Roasted Jalapeno, Hickory Smoked, and Thai Sweet Chili. Endorsed by NBA all-star Kevin Durant, the Strong & KIND line targets the sports nutrition market. “It was very important that we found natural ways to get 10 g of protein in each bar, without using soy or whey,” explains Elle Lanning, senior director of communications. “We did this by playing around with a number of ingredients and eventually found that by using almonds, seeds, and pea protein, we could provide all nine essential amino acids and a healthy source of protein.”
