It's the brand's first partnership with a warehouse club.
General Nutrition Centers Inc. (GNC) has announced its first partnership with a warehouse club, Sam’s Club. Select private-label GNC products will now be sold at the club store, which the company says “will support Sam’s Club’s increased focus on health- and wellness-oriented consumers through more-robust offerings of natural supplements and sports nutrition items.”
Beginning in March, approximately 400 Sam’s Club locations began offering the following GNC products:
· A 2-lb container of GNC’s Pro Performance AMP Amplified 100% Whey Protein ($18.98)
· A 1.7-lb bottle of GNC’s Total Lean brand Lean Shake diet product ($22.98)
GNC says that both products are popular sellers. Throughout the year, the company plans to rotate pallets of its top-selling items in select Sam’s Club locations.
“This partnership with Sam’s Club provides an excellent opportunity to introduce the GNC brands to consumers who may not be familiar with the quality and value of our products,” says Tom Dowd, executive vice president of GNC’s store operations and development. “Working with Sam’s Club, we will introduce the mass-market customer to the GNC brand and our strongest formulas, at an attractive price.”
