Sabinsa has announced that its Sami Kunigal manufacturing facility was honored by India’s Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) with the Environmental Sustainability award for “outstanding performance in environment, health, and safety.”
Sabinsa (East Windsor, NJ) has announced that its Sami Kunigal manufacturing facility was honored by India’s Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) with the Environmental Sustainability award for “outstanding performance in environment, health, and safety.”

According to the company’s press release, the award notes that the facility’s compliance with safety standards, including fire safety, and health & first aid. With regard to environmental compliance, KSPCB cites the company’s use of a “self-supported boiler chimney (70 meters high and 400mm diameter) to manage emissions in line with PCB norms, showcasing environmental responsibility.” The board also note water conservation efforts, with the facility’s implementation of a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) wastewater management system that “ensures no industrial wastewater is released into the environment, minimizing environmental impact.”
