Shaheen Majeed, formerly the marketing director for Sabinsa Corp., has been named president of Sabinsa Worldwide.
Shaheen Majeed, formerly the marketing director for Sabinsa Corp., has been named president of Sabinsa Worldwide. He is now in charge of manufacturing, marketing, strategy, and operations, and continues to serve on the board of Sabinsa and its Sami Labs division, as well as Sami Direct, the company’s multilevel marketing company in India. Sabinsa’s headquarters are located in Bangalore, India, with additional sites elsewhere in India as well as in the United States.
Majeed began his career at Sabinsa at the age of 17 and has worked for the company for more than 23 years. Most recently, he served as marketing director, but he was also heavily involved in other aspects of managing the company, the firm says. He also oversees the company’s contract-farming program that ensures fair pay and agricultural practices for farmers, and is also involved in matters related to good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and regulatory compliance.
Majeed holds a BA in economics from Rutgers University in New Jersey and an MBA in business management from Keller Management School in California. He was named one of "40 under 40" notable members of industry by Natural Foods Merchandiser in 2009.
