Sabinsa Announces Leadership Promotions
Asha Ramesh promoted to CEO Americas, and Jan Obirek advances to VP of Sales for US and Canada.

In a January 13, 2025, press release, international health sciences company Sabinsa shared two announcements about its leadership team.
Asha Ramesh, Sabinsa's CEO is now CEO Americas, with responsibilities that now include South America. Asha has been part of the company for 30 years, joining as manager of Purchasing and Special Projects at Sami Labs Ltd. in India, then becoming the vice president of Business Development before being promoted to US CEO in 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in science and an MBA specializing in marketing management from Bangalore University, India.
Jan Obirek, who joined Sabinsa in 2015 as Regional Sales Manager of California, has been promoted to VP of Sales for the US and Canada. Before emigrating to the US from Poland, he began his education at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and then earned bachelor’s degree in economics from University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. He has proven experience in sales management in natural, mass, and drug channels, as well as in consumer packaged goods and ingredient sales with both branded and private label products.

Shaheen Majeed was recently recognized by Nutritional Outlook's 2024 Best of the Industry Awards in the Industry Leader category.
Founded in 1988, Sabinsa markets more than 120 standardized botanical extracts and employs more than 1800 people worldwide in 27 facilities. Recently, its Sami Kunigal manufacturing facility was honored by India’s Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) with the Environmental Sustainability award.
