A recently published study1 found that a proprietary blend of Cocao bean (Theobroma cacao) and pomegranate peel (Punica granatum) called Tesnor, from Gencor (Austin, TX), helped boost testosterone levels in healthy young males. In the study, 120 males between 21 and 35 years of age received either a daily dose of placebo, 200 mg of Tesnor, or 400 mg of Tesnor for 56 days. Results showed that the high dose group saw significant increases in total testosterone and luteinizing hormone, compared to baseline. Post-trial, this same group demonstrated significant improvements in hand grip strength and mid-upper arm circumference.
“We are thrilled to report that Tesnor is a tolerable, safe, and effective natural herbal blend that boosts testosterone levels in young, healthy males,” said Chase Shryoc, vice president of sales & business development for Gencor, in a press release. “While this particular study is specific to young males, other studies have shown that daily doses of Tesnor have improved testosterone levels as well as reducing aging male symptoms scores.”
Tesnor has a good safety profile and meets global regulations having been tested with NSF and LGC for the absence of WADA prohibited substances. Gencor will be exhibiting at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, CA, in March, at Booth #3911.
