Ingredion (Westchester, IL), which in 2020 acquired a 75% stake in stevia supplier PureCircle (Chicago), announced an expansion of the PureCircle by Ingredion stevia production facility in Malaysia. The company says this expansion strengthens its position “as the largest-scale operator for stevia ingredients from bioconversion.”
Specifically, the firm’s press release states, “This expansion grows PureCircle’s bioconversion technology capacity, supporting four times the current capacity for these ingredients.”
The company says expansion of the PureCircle Malaysia facility will also support Ingredion’s new PureCircle Clean Taste Solutions, a range of application-specific sweetening solutions for such categories as beverages, dairy, tea, coffee, sports nutrition, bakery, confectionery, savory, sauces, and dressings.
