The new product, called Aldermis, is the company’s first-ever cosmetic-probiotic retail launch.
Probiotic ingredients supplier BioGaia AB (Stockholm, Sweden) has launched a retail product called Aldermis, which is designed to help children and infants with dry and sensitive skin. The company says this is the first time it has launched its own cosmetic probiotic product.
The Aldermis skin ointment features BioGaia’s patented bacteria strain L. reuteri DSM 17938. According to the company’s press release, “Aldermis is dermatologically tested and developed for infants and children with dry and sensitive skin. It moisturizes and nourishes sensitive skin and can be used all over the body, including the cheeks, chin, or bottom. The ointment is water-free and, in addition to the bacteria strain L. reuteri DSM 17938, contains only vegetable oils.”
Aldermis joins other BioGaia products on the market for children and adult health. It will initially launch in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2023.
