The company produces the AlaskOmega line of omega-3 nutritional supplement concentrates.
Organic Technologies (Coshocton, OH), a family-owned manufacturer of the AlaskOmega line of omega-3 nutritional supplement concentrates, announced it has earned GMP certification from NSF International.
AlaskOmega oils are caught in Alaska and produced from a fishery that is certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council. Refining is done at the company’s facility in Ohio. AlaskOmega oils include concentrated ethyl ester (up to 85% omega-3s) and reconstituted triglyceride products, produced from the oils of Alaska Pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) and Pacific Whiting (Merluccius productus). In addition to the AlaskOmega line, the company produces plant sterols, tocopherols, and specialty fatty acids.
“Achieving third-party GMP certification of our manufacturing facilities by NSF International is a significant accomplishment for our company,” said company vice president Dan Wiley. “Providing our customers around the world with an independent certification that our AlaskOmega omega-3 ingredients are produced in accordance with GMPs for dietary supplements under 21 CFR 111 clearly communicates to customers our standing commitment to provide the highest-quality ingredients from a clean and sanitary manufacturing facility. The NSF certification coupled with our seafood sustainability certification from the Marine Stewardship Council provides our customers with an exceptionally unique value proposition in the omega-3 market space.”
