Nutralliance announces independent conclusion of GRAS for seven probiotics from Ildong Biosciences

Seven probiotic strains from Ildong Biosciences, based in the Republic of Korea, received independent conclusion of GRAS: Bacillus subtilis IDCC 1101, Bifidobacterium bifidum IDCC 4201, Bifidobacterium longum IDCC 4101, Lactobacillus gasseriI DCC 3101, Lactobacillus helveticus IDCC 3801, Lactobacillus salivarius IDCC 3551, and Lactobacillus fermentum IDCC 3901. 

“Achieving our GRAS status with the help of the AIBMR team was an imperative step to certify that our ingredients are safe,” AnaMariaCuentas, director of probiotics for Nutralliance Inc. (Yorba Linda, CA), the North American sales and marketing partner for Ildong Bioscience, said in a press release. The GRAS status of these strains completes the portfolio of 19 strains of quadruple-coated probiotics offered by Nutralliance, available in single-strain solutions and custom blends.

She went on to say that obtaining the independent conclusion of GRAS for the additional seven probiotic strains “strengthens both industry and consumer confidence in our science-based ingredients and creates a multitude of opportunities for our North American customers to remain at the forefront of the market.”
