Borage, also known as starflower, has the highest naturally occurring omega-6 fatty acid GLA of any known plant, the company says.
Nordic Naturals is now offering Nordic GLA, a vegetarian borage oil providing gamma-linolenic acid(GLA), a beneficial omega-6 fatty acid naturally occurring in plants.
The company says Nordic GLA offers 480 mg GLA per serving, the highest level among leading brands. It provides anti-inflammatory support for radiant skin, hormonal balance, joint function, and optimal body-fat metabolism. The product is made exclusively from non-GMO, cold-pressed borage seed grown in New Zealand.
The company says borage, also known as starflower, has the highest naturally occurring level of GLA of any known plant. Like other omega oils, it is an essential fatty acid that the body needs but cannot produce on its own, and it is one of two key omega oils in the omega-6 family of essential fatty acids, the other being linoleic acid (LA).
