The flagship ingredient for this range is Carolean, which the company says promotes natural GLP-1 secretion that helps control one’s appetite.
Nexira (Rouen, France) has announced in a recent press release the launch of its GLP-1 Collection, which is a range of ingredients that offer support weight management via the GLP-1 pathway and/or alleviate discomfort related to GLP-1 therapies. The flagship ingredient for this range is Carolean, which the company says promotes natural GLP-1 secretion that helps control one’s appetite. According to the company, Carolean reaches peak viscosity in 15 minutes to trigger satiety faster than market standards, and has sustained release to provide over 80 minutes of optimized digestion without discomfort.
Nexira cites an in vivo study that found the ingredient significantly reduced food intake by 47% after three weeks of supplementation, and significantly slowed gastric emptying both acutely and chronically. The study also saw that Carolean promoted a two-fold increase in GLP-1 secretion and reduced ghrelin, a hormone related to hunger, by 67%.
Side effects of the GLP-1 medications include gastrointestinal discomfort, lean muscle mass loss, and reduced energy levels, and according to Nexira, ingredients like acacia fiber, rice and carob proteins, and ginseng as well as guarana, can aid in alleviating each respective side effect. Once patients get off their GLP-1 treatments, Nexira also offers a comprehensive range of ingredients as part of its Get Fit approach. These include Carolean, ID-alG for enzyme inhibition, Hepure for detox, VinOgrape Plus for microbiome modulation, Cactinea for water elimination, and Okralin as well as Neopuntia for fat binding. These ingredients, says Nexira may help people optimize and prevent weight regain following GLP-1 treatment discontinuation.
