Nexira says that the Tournay acquisition is part of its plan to expand its range of health and wellness ingredients, which the firm says will soon comprise 35% of its commercial activity.
Nexira (Rouen, France) has acquired Tournay Biotechnologies, a France-based botanical extracts producer. In particular, Tournay touts its flagship cranberry extracts line, called Exocyan, which is standardized to proanthocyanidin (PAC) content. Acquisition details were not disclosed.
Nexira says that the Tournay acquisition is part of its plan to expand its range of health and wellness ingredients, which the firm says will soon comprise 35% of its commercial activity. The company expects sales growth of €15 million by 2015.
Tournay’s extracts also include green coffee and green tea. The company specializes in active botanical extracts for the nutraceutical and dietary supplement industries. It is ISO 22000 certified and is based near Bordeaux, France.
