Anlit Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel) has launched a line of probiotic chews called ProBites LLP. For this product, Anlit developed innovative technology that allows for “higher stability of live bacteria in ambient conditions,” according to the company.
Anlit’s R&D team developed the stability-enhancing technology by characterizing all the factors that would negatively impact the stability of live bacteria in a food matrix such as moisture and isolated each potential barrier to craft a specific solution to overcome them. The outcome, says Anlit, is a product that maintains great flavor and optimal functionality.
Anlit also had to invest in a new preparation system that created an ideal production environment to ensure the product’s stability that involved precise temperature and humidity controls. The firm also implemented a double packaging system with a multilayer laminate to retain the perfect moisture-free environment in the packaging.
“ProBites LLP taste and look like candy chews and, based on our trials, can become the probiotic choice of kids and adults,” said Shai Karlinski, vice president of sales and marketing for Anlit, in a press release. “This new product line represents our commitment to help consumers get tasty supplements of the highest standard that all the family loves.”
