Enterade IBS-D is designed for dietary management of GI symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D).
Life sciences company Entrinsic Bioscience has launched a new medical food product designed for dietary management of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), including such symptoms as diarrhea, dehydration, bowel urgency, and abdominal discomfort. The company says its Enterade IBS-D product is the first medical food for IBS-D that is formulated with plant-based amino acids and electrolytes.
“The unique formula of amino acids and electrolytes was chosen based on their ability to naturally support and maintain digestive function while replenishing fluid loss, electrolytes, and minerals caused by frequent diarrhea,” the company’s press release states, adding that the product also benefits from soothing properties of ingredients like chamomile and ginger. Patients are instructed to drink one 8-oz bottle up to two times daily. The product is described as having “a consistency similar to water.”
“IBS-D affects over 16 million people in the United States alone,” said Stephen J. Gatto, CEO of Entrinsic Bioscience, in a press release. Company President Charles Mohs added, “We are excited to provide a truly unique product that helps provide IBS-D sufferers with more confidence to enjoy everyday life.”
