Meati, the brand creating alternative-meat products based on its MushroomRoot ingredient, has introduced four new products. The new products are Spicy Crispy Cutlet, Crispy Bites, Garlic & Black Pepper Steak, and Italian-Seasoned Cutlet.
MushroomRoot is produced from Neurospora crassa mycelium, which does not produce fruiting bodies or mycotoxins. The company describes MushroomRoot as a “complete-protein whole food that ends up free of sugar, low in cholesterol, easily absorbed, and packed with fiber and vitamins.” The company’s debut product line of cutlets and steaks made from MushroomRoot, called Eat Meati, first launched in March 2023.
Each of the company’s four newest products—Crispy Bites, Spicy Crispy Cutlet, Garlic & Black Pepper Steak, and Italian Seasoned Cutlet—“delivers a compositional purity made possible with MushroomRoot, which offers incredible texture and an extraordinary nutritional profile, including high protein and fiber content,” the firm’s press release states.
