Minerals supplier Jost Chemical Co. (St. Louis, MO) has begun construction on a 4,600-square-meter manufacturing facility in KoÅcian, Poland. The strategic parcel of land comprises 3.523 hectares, allowing Jost to expand the plant for additional production capacity in the future. The company says it’s excited to be expanding its footprint in Europe.
Jost is a leading supplier of high-purity specialty minerals salts, including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, and zinc, with exceptionally low levels of heavy metals. Jost’s plant in Poland will produce high-purity specialty mineral salts intended for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, nutrition, and clinical nutrition industries.
“The Jost team has built a solid reputation for superior product quality; thus our international customers have asked us to expand our footprint,” explained Jeff Lenger, director of sales and marketing for Jost, in a press release. “In order to capitalize on this success, we are expanding our presence in Europe to ensure that we are well positioned to meet future growth projections in the region and maintain our high level of responsiveness.”
Construction officially began in September 2018, and the facility is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019. Jost’s plant in St. Louis, MO, is an FDA-registered, bulk-pharmaceutical operation comprising four buildings totaling 27,800 square meters. The company has produced high-purity chemicals for more than 30 years. Its wide selection of more than 250 chemical salts includes citrates, gluconates, lactates, phosphates, malates, ascorbates, acetates, sulfates, oxides, carbonates, fumarates, and nitrates.
