Jiaherb (Pine Brook, NJ) has earned FSSC 22000 certification, a food-safety-system certification fully recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative and based on international, independent ISO Standards. Specifically, FSSC 22000 is based on ISO 22000, ISO 22003, sector-specific pre-requisite programs, as well as additional scheme requirements that ensure consistency, integrity, and provide governance and management of the scheme.
By successfully undergoing and completing a rigorous third-party audit that ensures key systems at Jiaherb meet strict requirements, the company says it is able to effectively manage its food-safety responsibilities moving forward. The audit process has a three-year cycle during which the certifying body that issued the certification conducts a minimum of one surveillance audit per year to ensure continued improvements, followed by a full recertification audit once every three years.
