In a March 26, 2025, press release, Inner Brightness announced its new digestive aid supplement, Akkermansia Probiotic. The three-in-one blend of pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila AKK PROBIO, DigeSEB broad-spectrum digestive enzymes (from Specialty Enzymes and Probiotics, based in Chino, CA), and B-Complex vitamins is intended to support gut health and nutrient absorption. The supplement uses an inactivated form of Akkermansia. Inactivated probiotics are often referred to as postbiotics, which have their own unique benefits, even if they do not populate the gut with bacteria.

The heat-activated strain AKK PROBIO has received self-affirmed GRAS certification, reportedly one of the first heat-activated strains to do so. In a March 13, 2025, press release, the ingredient's manufacturer Thankcome Biological Science and Technology Co., Ltd highlighted the safety of both live and inactivated forms of Akkermansia muciniphila AKK PROBIO. An independent review concluded the ingredient is safe for consumption, produced under cGMP Standards, approved for adding to functional foods and supplements, supports gut microbiome balance, metabolic health, and improves immune function, and is part of mucosal barrier integrity.

Additionally, a study published in Foods in January 2024 provided an evaluation of Akkermansia muciniphila PROBIO, demonstrating its GI tolerance, showed that it did not induce gene mutations, did not show a risk of spreading antibiotic resistance genes, and did not show a toxicological effect, among other safety evaluations.

The main draw of pasteurization is improved stability. According to Inner Brightness, the postbiotic ingredient supports gut health through the protein Amuc_1100 and protein P9 on the surface of the inactivated bacteria, offering an alternative to live bacteria.

The broad-spectrum enzyme blend DigeSEB assists with nutrient absorption and with issues such as bloating while effectively breaking down proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

The third component of the formula is a complex of B vitamins that support cellular energy function, help reduce inflammation, and support nerve function.
