GFR Ingredients has a water-soluble hemp protein powder at 65% protein content.
GFR Ingredients Inc. (Barrhead, AB, Canada) says its water-soluble hemp protein powder, HempSol-65, is now the most concentrated hemp protein powder on the market. The accomplishment is attributed to a unique manufacturing process that eliminates greater amounts of hemp seed shell content, thus lowering carbohydrate content and improving protein percentage of the final product.
Beyond lifting protein levels, GFR’s manufacturing process makes its hemp protein uniquely compatible with ready-to-drink beverages. “Hemp protein products in the past have been a challenge to beverage formulators because of their uneven particle size and grittiness,” said GFR president Richard Pierce in an interview with Nutritional Outlook. “HempSol powder has no grittiness, and a uniform mesh size enables it to stay in suspension with other plant protein powders.”
Available as conventional or organic hemp protein, HempSol-65 is slightly nutty flavor and is a source of 20 amino acids, omega-3 fatty acids, and omega-6 fatty acids. The ingredient is suitable for functional food, powder supplement, and baked goods applications.
GFR’s hemp protein is sourced from non-GMO Canadian hemp grown without herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides.
