Thanks to product licensing, NEM Natural Eggshell Membrane ingredient can now be sold in Canada.
Health Canada has issued a Natural Product Number (NPN) to NEM Natural Eggshell Membrane, a joint-health ingredient from ESM Technologies (Carthage, MO).
Under Canada’s 2004-effective Natural Health Products Regulations, all natural health products must be given a product license and an NPN in order to be able to be sold in Canada. The NPN lets consumers know a product has been reviewed and preapproved by Health Canada.
“The issuance of an NPN for NEM product is a first step for ESM Technologies in the Canadian marketplace,” stated Micah Osborne, ESM Technologies president.
“The entire process of working with NHPD [Canada’s Natural Health Products Directorate] has been very educational and informative,” he continued. “Now that NEM products have received NPNs, we anticipate consumer access to such products to increase rapidly in the Canadian market.”
NEM is derived from eggshell membrane, a natural source of chondroitin sulfate, HA, and other naturally occurring glycosaminoglycans.
